Daniel "Dan" was the son of James William Albert and Carrie Frances Garten and older brother of my Granddad, Frederick "Fred" Samuel Albert. Dan was the 11th of 13 children.

Dan married Margaret Cox on July 22, 1938.

He was retired from the Albemarle County Sheriff's Department. He served with the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II.
