This is a MEMORIAL MARKER ONLY not his burial place.

He is buried in the Coffee Cemetery(General John Coffee's)in Florence Lauderdale County Alabama.

I posted his grave stone photo there. He is the son of John Donelson and Mary Purnell, husband of Eliza Eleanor Butler.

THE FOOT STONE J.D. IS NOT HIS. THERE IS NO GRAVE IT IS A MEMORIAL STONE ONLY!

Son of Captain John Donelson founding father of Nashville,Tn. Appointed by President Madison Captain of U.S. Rangers(War of 1812. Distinguished himself in several battles and at in the action of December 22 and Janurary 6,1816at the storming of Pensacola. This cemetery was once part of
the Gen John Coffee property and
is a beautiful location.I sure would
like to know how he came to be buried
there. His name or stone was not
listed anywhere at the Florence
Archives with everyone else.There
was no mention of his grave anywhere.
I found it when I went there to the
cemetery myself.
