TROY - Donahue Allen, 84, of 1645 S. Forest Hill Road, Troy, died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home.

He was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Cunningham, Texas, to the late Marvin Luther and Luella (Powell) Allen.

He married Yvette J. Pirot on Dec. 11, 1948, in Troy; and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Don (Junko) Allen of Powell; three daughters, Wanda (Scott) Zirkle and Laura (Thomas) Bell, all of Piqua, Christie (Joel) Stewart of Larkspur, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Una Faye Demoure of Texas.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Mr. Allen graduated high school, and with his wife owned and operated the Allen Vending Co. for more than 40 years.

He was a United States Army Air Corp veteran having served during World War II.

He was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, West Milton. Additionally, he and his wife enjoyed antiquing and collecting radios.

A celebration of his life will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with the Rev. Fr. John D. MacQuarrie officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy, where full military honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
