GALION: Joyce M. Wildenthaler, 95, of Galion, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Galion Community Hospital.

Born December 3, 1913 in Crestline, she was the daughter of the late Edward N. Baldinger and Margaret (McCartney) Baldinger.

She was preceded in death on January 27, 1995 by her husband, Carl W. Wildenthaler, Sr. whom she married on September 2, 1936.

Joyce graduated from Galion High School in 1931 and worked at J. C. Penney Co. in Galion for many years. Joyce loved to swim and worked out in the Galion Community Center YMCA pool regularly. She also loved to play bridge and was an avid reader. Joyce was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion Eagles Aerie 630 Auxiliary; Galion Golden Age Club where she was a member of the Jing-A-Lings and was a life member of Galion Women's Bowling Assoc.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Leo E. and Ruth Anne Wildenthaler of Troy, Carl W. "Skip" Wildenthaler, Jr. and Sharon Wildenthaler of Galion and Joseph M. and Kathy Wildenthaler of Canal Winchester; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret F. and James Goldsberry of Grasonville, Md.; and nine grandchildren, Greg (Jane Stapleton) Wildenthaler, Linda Schaefer, Deborah (David) Depinet, David Wildenthaler, Christopher (Andrea) Wildenthaler, Kimberly (Eric) Chandler, James (Jenny Woodall) Goldsberry, Jennifer Wildenthaler and Brian (Christine) Wildenthaler; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father John Brennen, celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery next to her husband. Vigil services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Richardson-Davis Funeral with Father Robert Haas officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 135 N. Liberty St., Galion, OH 44833.
