She was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia on May 2, 1925 a daughter of the late Lafayette AL.F. and Moggie Nicely Craft. She was Registered Nurse at She was a retired Registered Nurse at Liberty House Nursing Home, and was a member of the Clifton Forge Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil William Simpson in April of 1993.
She is survived by her daughter Sherry S. McClung of Clifton Forge; 2 sons and daughters-in-law Cecil "Tony" Simpson, Jr. And Marlene of Verona,
Virginia and Dr. Gary F. Simpson and Edie of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 brothers Wiley M. Craft and Lonnie F. Craft both of Roanoke; 5 Grandchildren Shane Fury, Brian Simpson, Travis Simpson, Gary Simpson, Jr. And Adam Simpson. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother William Lafayette "Bill" Craft.
A Funeral Service will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:00 P.M. from the Clifton Forge Baptist Church with Rev. William B. "Bud" Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening 7 - 8:30 P.M. at Nicely Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of 617 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mrs. Simpson's name to the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 419, Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422.
