WATERBURY — Mr. George "Spider" Mattocks, 50, of 13 Cherry St., passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Abbott Terrace Health Care Center.

Mr. Mattocks was born March 19, 1962, in Waterbury, a son of Julia (Horne) Mattocks of Waterbury and the late Lee G. Mattocks. George, "Spider" as he was known by all, was educated in the Waterbury public school system, attending Crosby High School. His employment included Peck Mfg., Arett Sales and most recently Land Jet Bus Company. He enjoyed playing pool, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother, Julia, he leaves to mourn his passing three sons, Samuel Powell of Torrington, George Powell and Anthony Powell, both of Waterbury; two daughters, Neomi Powell and Monique Powell, both of Waterbury; six grandchildren; three brothers, Daniel Horne, Gilbert L. (JoAnne) Mattocks and Anthony (Lisa) Mattocks, all of Waterbury; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Rehoboth Church of God in Christ Jesus, 101 East Farm St., with the Rev. Raymond Berger officiating. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Calling hour will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel Memorial Funeral Home, 35-37 Grove St.
