THE DANGEROUS BANANA PEEL.

Mrs. Chas. Damico Painfully Injured by Stepping on One.
While at the store of the Meyersdale Produce Co., which is owned and operated by her husband, Mrs. Chas. Damico met with a very painful accident last Saturday evening
.
Mrs. Damico, in stepping from the doorway to the concrete sidewalk in front of the store, stepped on a banana peel, which caused her to slip and fall heavily on the concrete. She was hurt very badly, the principal injury being to one of her feet, the ligaments being badly torn and extremely painful.

Mr. Damico, who was near Elkins, W. Va., with a camping party when the accident happened, was immediately summoned home, arriving early on Monday morning.

The injured woman's recovery will necessarily be slow, as torn ligaments are more difficult to heal than broken bones, and Mrs. Damico's accident should cause people to be careful not to throw banana skins on the sidewalks, as many severe injuries are caused by them.

NEW MEAT MARKET ON MAIN STREET

Mrs. Charles Damico and sons, who have successfully conducted the business of the Meyersdale Produce Co., since the death of her husband, at the old stand on Center street, adjoining the Rowe & Barber Grocery, are moving this week from the latter place to the location on Main street vacated last week by the D.J. Meyers Market, and which is being renovated and refitted for a first class sanitary market.

The building is owned by the Damico estate and is on the same lot as the warehouse of the Meyersdale Produce Co., which is one of the reasons for moving, as it will be a big advantage to have the wholesale and retail departments of the company close together. Being situated between the N.E. Miller & Son's store and the postoffice, it is one of the best retail locations in town.

In addition to continuing the wholesale and retail fruit and produce business that the late Charles Damico founded, the widow and sons will also conduct a firstclass meat market.

The narrow storeroom and office, between the Rowe & Barber store and the Sanitary Dry Cleaning established, that the Meyersdale Produce Co. is vacating will be take over by Rowe & Barber for use as a warehouse, which is needed for their growing business.

The guests gathered at her home on Broadway while Mrs. D'Amico was visiting at a neighbor's. When she returned and found her parlor full of guests she was greatly surprised. The evening was spent playing cards and at 11 o'clock Miss Frances served lunch. Mrs. D'Amico was the recipient of many gifts.
