Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, April 24 at the Mannsville Methodist Church for Mrs. Thomas Ann Penn, 69, wife of Royal Penn of Mannsville, who died Friday, April 22, 1960 at her home in Mannsville, after a long illness. She was born in Taylor County Dec. 8, 1891, the daughter of the late Balden Pruitt and Mrs. Fannie Malone Pruitt. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Mannsville Methodist Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Rex (Mary Pruitt) Hankins, Whiteland, Ind.; four grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Rev. Clarence Bertram conducted the funeral services, assisted by Rev. Jimmy Knifley and Rev. Riley Guffey, and burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charlie Grooms, Lindsey Perkins, Ezra Caffee, Dewey Jones, George Cox, and Cleveland Minor. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, April 28, 1960
