Born at home on Sept. 15, 1922, in East Peoria to Arthur O. and Theresa (Koopman) Haedicke, he married Jean Burdette on Sept. 19, 1947. They celebrated 65 years of marriage. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Donald (and Deb) Haedicke, James (and Cathy) Haedicke and Joy (and Jack) Dries, all of East Peoria. He is also survived by a brother, Gerald (and Hildegard) Haedicke, a sister, Alice (and Earl) Johnston, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Haedicke, all of East Peoria.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Adolph and Leroy Haedicke, and a sister, Thelma Durst.
Retiring in 1987, he was a home builder, a lifelong farmer and a self-employed owner of Haedicke Sand, Gravel and Excavating.
His passion was coon hunting and keeping and training Walker Coon Dogs. He was a member of the Peoria Area Coon Hunters.
Graveside services willbe held in Haedicke Family Cemetery.
