Death of Richard Carroll.
After a brief illness, Richard Carroll passed from life, Monday evening about seven o'clock, at his home in West McCook. The funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church, Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. W. Hickey. Burial followed in Calvary cemetery. The deceased was in his 34th year. The deceased was married, September 28th, 1892, and is survived by a wife and five young children, who mourn.the untimely end of a husband and father. He was not in the Burlington voluntary relief, but carried $2,000 insurance in the Workman order. Much of his life has been given to the railroad service, having been in the Burlington employe for twelve years. Among the relatives from abroad, present were three brothers from Ragan, Nebraska, James, Thomas and Oray, who were accompanied by their wives. The twin sister of the deceased, Mrs. Nellie Cheline of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Hugh H. Carroll of Holdrege, were also present. There are three other sisters, Mrs. Miltler of Kankakee, Ill, Mrs. Will Lambert of Edgemont, S.D., and Mrs Phelps of La Salle, Ill, none of them, however, being able to be present. Will Lambert was here, also. The aged parents of the deceased died in 1891, April 1st and 3d, respectively, and were buried at Holdrege on the same day. They were each 65 years of age. The helpless wife and little children have sincerest sympathy of all tender hearts.
