A native of Laredo, he lived in Nueces County most of his life. He was a barber with Ortiz Barber Shop at 1611 Agnes.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the Clifford Jackson Funeral Home on Kostoryz. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Christ the King Catholic Church with the Rev. Hugh Clarke officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Valentina; a son, Alberto R. Ortiz Jr. of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Mrs. Pablo Sanchez and Mrs. Johnny Gonzales, both of San Antonio; two stepdaughters, Miss Irma Luna of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Frank Jimenez of Chicago, Ill.; and 16 grandchildren.
