MRS. EMMA JANE SWORD, widow of James M. Sword Sr., of Virginia Ave, died at Western Maryland State Hospital on Wednesday at 2 am of complications, aged 80 years.
The daughter of the late Thornton and Mary C. (Ripple) Barnes, she was born and spent her entire life in Washington County.
She was a member of Williamsport Zion Lutheran Church, the Women's Bible Class and the Missionary Society.
She is survived by a son, James M. Sword Jr., Walnut Point Road; 5 grandchildren; brothers, Ezra Barnes, Greencastle; William Barnes, Hagerstown; and Harry Barnes, Fairplay; nieces and nephews.
Services Friday at 2 pm at A. K. Coffman Funeral Home with the Rev. William C. Huddle officiating. Interment in River View Cemetery, Williamsport.
