Marriage:
Miss Kendrick Is Bride Of Clarence E. Boyes In Pretty Home Rites
(Valley Morning Star News Service)
DONNA— In a beautiful home ceremony, with only members of the families and close friends present, Miss Grace Jewell Kendrick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kendrick of Donna, and Clarence E. Boyes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Boyes of Alamo, were united in marriage by the Rev. G. H. Farmer of the Christian Church of Donna. The ceremony took place at eight o clock Saturday evening, September 12. The large dining room and living room were transformed into a colorful garden with many arrangements of pink and blue hydrangeas. The bride was gowned in an exquisite ice blue satin evening dress, delicately printed with pink flowers. The effective jacket with its high collar was set off with a corsage in harmonizing colors. Immediately following the wedding Mrs. Boyes cut her three-tiered wedding cake, which was topped by a miniature bride and groom, before changing into her lovely going-away suit of deep wine and gold with brown accessories. The bride and groom will be at home to their friends in the Alamo Courts for the first month or two of their marriage. Mrs. Boyes was graduated from Donna high school in the class of 1935, being one of the popular members of her set and an honor student throughout her high school career. Mr. Boyes attended the Pharr-San Juan high school. He is now employed by the Valley Battery Company in San Juan.
