COLFAX — Frank C. Schumacher, age 88 of Colfax, died on Friday, February 11, 2005, at his home in the township of Tainter, Dunn County.

Frank was born February 26, 1916, on the home farm in the township of Tainter. He was the son of Peter and Mathilda (Doelle) Schumacher and grew up on the family farm. Frank served in the U.S. Army for four years during WW II. After the service he returned to the family farm. Along with farming, Frank spent a considerable amount of time trapping mink, muskrat, fox and beaver. Frank married Rita Dalle June 4, 1957, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Menomonie. After marriage they continued farming the family farm, which he really enjoyed and was still working on the farm this past fall. Frank enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert in infancy; two brothers, Joseph and Fr. Charles; and a son-in-law, Tony Ferber.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Menomonie with Rev. Thomas Krieg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4: to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
