Roy "Oakie" Tischauser
(December 21, 1926 - June 13, 2010)

Roy "Oakie" Tischauser, age 83 years, of Pagel Rd., Iola passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Appleton Medical Center after a brief illness and was lovingly surrounded by his family. He must have had a heavenly perch fishing date with Nettie.
He was born December 21, 1926 in Split Rock, WI. son of the late Harry and Ottilia (Reinich) Tischauser. He was married to Burnetta "Nettie" Adams on September 4, 1954 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Big Falls, and celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2004. The couple lived in Appleton, from 1954 until 1989 when he retired after 36 years of employment at Riverside Paper in Appleton. Upon moving to the Iola/Big Falls area, he became a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Big Falls where he served as an elder until his passing. Oakie was a husband and father whose love and devotion to his wife and family was epic. He treasured his relationship with his Lord and raised his family to put God and family above all else. He proudly served his country 9 months in the U.S. Army until he received a medical discharge. Oakie loved Loggers, Brewers, and Cubs baseball, hunting and trout fishing. He had been a member of the Big Falls Lions and worked at the Iola Old Car Show regularly. Most of all, he cherished perch fishing with Nettie on Pelican Lake. At 83 years of age, he was active, quick witted, a great cook, and had a quirky sense of humor. More than anything, he was the best Dad we could have ever asked for. Since Nettie's passing in 2008, he has shared his love and life with his dog, Honey.

Survivors include his dog and lifesaver, Honey; two daughters; and two sons. He was papa cookies to six grandchildren. There are two brothers; there are 4 sister-in-laws. Oakie is further survived by several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nettie, a brother, Harry "Cub", and four sisters, Erna "Dolly" Arnold, Mae Falk, Lucy Johnson, and Jenny Behnke.

We want to especially thank the doctors, nurses & staff in the ICU at Appleton Medical Center for their compassionate care given to our dad.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 16th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Big Falls. Rev. Jeffery Smiles will officiate and burial will follow at Big Falls Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke's Lutheran Church or your local Humane Society.
