Aileen Davis-Barmon, 95, McLean,Va., formerly of Abilene and a longtime resident of Huntington, Long Island, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in McLean,Va.She was born Nov, 25 1909 in Abilene, the daughter of William Ward and Rachel (Hall) Davis. She graduated from Cornish School of Fine Arts in Seattle. She received a master's degreee in history from CW Post University.She married Richard M. Barmon. They lived in Shaghai, China, Lima, Peru, Hong Kong, Taipei Taiwan, Salt Boston, and Huntington, Long Island, Lake City.Mrs. Barmon taught English and Social Studies in the East Northport Junior High School System for several years. She also worked for several English language newspapers and wrote a book while living in Shanghai, China.She was active in the Democratic part on Long Island.Survivors include two sons, Ward Barmon and John Barmon; and six granddaughters.Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct 8 2005, in Abilene Cemetery, with Pastor Robert H. Frasier officiating.Visitaton will be from noon Friday until time of the service on Saturday, at Danner Funeral Home, 501 Buckeye, Abilene.Aileen is buried in the Davis plot in block 14.
