Amanda M. Adams was born near LaGrange in Brown County, Ill on March 18, 1834 and departed this life on Nov 7 1910 at her home in Versailles in her 77 year.
She was married to John Thomas on June 24 1852. To this union were born 10 children, all except a son and a daughter having preceeded her to the great beyond.
She leaves 2 Sisters Mrs Ella Pruden and Mrs Emma Stuller, living near LaGrange, 30 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren to mourn her loss.
Early in life she gave her heart to God, uniting with the Christian Church and has lived a faithful Christian life since, dying in the trumph of the Christian faith.
The funeral was held at the Christian Church Tuesday at 10 am. conducted by Elder Watson Burial was in Cooperstown Cemetery.
(The two children who survived her were Benjamin Thomas and Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Dobbs).
