Clara A. Hoeft, 90, of the Nebraska Veterans Home, died Saturday. Graveside services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Grand Island City Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Jobman will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Veterans Home or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Hoeft was born Aug. 19, 1894, in Hall County to John and Caroline (Krehmke) Horstman. She grew up and was educated in the Grand Island area, marrying Dr. John F. Hoeft on Nov. 25, 1926, at Aurora. The couple made their home in Grand Island. Dr. Hoeft died in 1974, and Mrs. Hoeft continued to live in Grand Island. Mrs. Hoeft was a lifetime member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church.
She was survived by three sons, John and Tom of Grand Island, and Don of Omaha; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Mrs. Hoeft was preceded in death by a brother, and nine half-brothers and sisters.
