She married Eugene "Gene" Ellison on June 28, 1933 in Pacid, McCulloch County, Texas. They raised one son, Jerry Eugene Ellison and lived primarily in the Holder Community near May, Brown County, Texas.
She later married Thurman Carlton "T. C." Norman about 1976.
She was a church pianist and worked in clothing factories and woolen mill industry until she "retired". After her retirement she worked at the Senior Citizens Center in Brownwood, Texas as a Green Thumb worker. Green Thumb later moved her to the Texas Employment Commission and she stayed there until she was 84.
She was an active, friendly, and outgoing individual and could be, as she described herself, "plain spoken".
