Funeral services for Sidney Oliver Barnes, 64, of Fayetteville, were conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Higgins Funeral Home. The Rev. Ewing Burroughs officiated, and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Barnes died last Friday night in Medical Center, in Huntsville, following a long illness.
A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Beulah Johnstone Barnes. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Barnes was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include one son, Douglas Barnes, of Akron, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Gayle Bowman of Knoxville; one brother, Gordon Barnes of Fayetteville; tow sisters, Mrs. Ernestine Ellzey of Fayetteville, and Mrs. Louise Meyers of Evansville, Indiana; and five grandchildren.
