MRS AMANDA H HALL DEAD
Mother of Henry Clay Hall of the Interstate Commerce Commission Passes Away
Mrs Amanda H Hall, widow of Henry Clay Hall, died at her home in Ashfield village yesterday morning. Mrs Hall was sister of the late United States Senator Thomas W Ferry of Michigan and was born on the Island of Mackinaw, Mich. Sept. 20, 1828. Her husband died April 12, 1873. She leaves two sons, Henry Clay Hall of Colorado Springs, Col., a member of the interstate commerce commission, and George G Hall of the Cumberland telephone and telegraph company of Louisville, Ky. Her oldest son, William Montague Hall died December 15, 1894. She lived in Ashfield many years in the house formerly owned by her grandfather, Thomas White, a prominent citizen of Ashfield.
Mrs Hall was a woman who took a keen interest in the welfare of the town and was a faithful and earnest worker in the Congregational church. She was taken ill with pneumonia a few weeks ago, and while apparently improved in health, did not have the strength to recover. The funeral will be held at her late home Monday at 11 a.m. Rev. Thomas Miller officiating.
