Ezra Alexander Trent, often just called Alexander, was the eleventh of the 12 children of Henry Trent and Harriet Clemmons. He married first to Elizabeth G Boyer in 1874. They had two children, Estellle and Luther, by the 1880 census, and added Lillian May to the family in 1882. Still unknown what happened to Elizabeth, but Ezra married second to Melvina Tuggle/Tugle about 1887. Melvina's first marrage was to Mr. Hogan and their son, James Guy Hogan was born in 1881. Ezra and Melvina then became parents of Elmer H., Bessie V., and Amanda Ellen. On the 1900 census, the older children are gone and only the children by Melvina, including James G Hogan are listed. Ezra's obit said he had lived in the Des Moines area for 40 years and was a Teamster.
