Found in The State 30 September 1902: Miss Caroline L. Hampton, the youngest surviving sister of the late Gen. Wade Hampton, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at her home in Waverly of pneumonia. Miss Hampton was 74 years of age and leaves two sisters. The funeral services will be held from Trinity church at 5 p.m. tomorrow morning. Miss Hampton had been in declining health for over a year.
