Stephen D. Hodlin, aged 74 years, for the past 23 years proprietor of a laundry at his home, 78 Lake avenue, died Saturday afternoon at the House of Mercy of pneumonia where he was taken Friday. He had been ill since last Tuesday.
He was born in Chazy, N.Y., and came to this city from Bridgeport, Conn. He was a member of the Methodist church in that place and Osceola lodge of Odd Fellows in this city. He is survived by six sons - Orville D. of Champlain, N.Y.; Stephen D. Jr. of Rutland, Vt.; Willis J., John A., Walter F. and Joseph L. of this city; five daughters, Mrs. Raymond D. Nellis of Albany, Mrs. Walter Ringie, Mrs. Melvin Richards, Mrs. Walter Beckwith and Miss Katherine of this city; 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, John of Milford, N.H., three sisters, Mrs. Frederick Perkins of Manchester, N.H.; Mrs. Josephine Larmour of California and Mrs. Angeline Cowan of Albany.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home with Rev. H.G. Vincent officiating. Burial will be in the Pittsfield cemetery where the Odd Fellows will have charge of the committal service.
