Jacob Bowman was born the 13th of December, 1814, in Lancaster Co., Pa. He removed to Ohio in 1832, and in 1839 was married to Susanna Weaver. He removed to Elkhart County, Indiana, in 1850, where he remained until 1895, when he and his wife went to live with their daughter, Lydia Greenawalt, in LaGrange Co.

Their union was blessed with 13 children, 8 of whom are living, namely, Samuel, Lydia, Katy, Levi, Amos, Susan, Jacob and David. All these, (excepting Katy, who resides in Lynn Co., Kan.,) with their mother were present at the funeral. The deceased was the grandfather of thirtyone grandchildren and great grandfather of 16 great grandchildren.

He was a devoted member of the Mennonite Church since 1836. He died July 18th, 1898, aged 81 years, 7 months and 5 days. Funeral was held from the Clinton Brick M. H. Services by Amos Cripe, from 2 Tim. 4 68, and John Garber, from Rev. 14: 13.

Glad for the info on Jacob's father. I have Jacob Bowman 1814-1898 married to Susanna Weaver 1818-1901. They had at least one son, Amos 1841-1940 who married Lydia Stutzman 1854-1909. Feel free to add this info if you want to. Wanda
