Nancy Jane was the daughter of Peter Airheart and Emiline Lee of Bradley County. She was married to John Harvey Gross, and they were parents of Sam, Lou Ann, Ida, Esta, Ben, James, Clifford, and Earl H.
Her obituary said only three daughters and two sons were living: Mrs. Stanton Starnes of Oklahoma, Mrs. C. A. Starnes of Oklahoma City and Mrs. J. V . Gass of Chattanooga. The sons were James of Harrison, and Ben H. of Birchwood. She also had a sister living, Mrs. Bettie Chilcutt, of Cleveland, TN.
