She was a native of Greenville County and attended Spartanburg High School. Mrs. Henderson worked in retail before owning her own business, Henderson Grocery. She was a wonderful seamstress and a loving caregiver for her husband and many of her siblings. Mrs. Henderson was a member of Beaver Hills Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwyn H. Owens; a son, Chuck Henderson (Frankie); a beloved granddaughter, Sarah Frances Henderson; a sister, Imogene Gwinn McElrath; and many loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Ezelle and Everette Gwinn; and sisters, Aileen Finch, Frances Brannon, Agnes Rogers, Virginia O'Sullivan, Jewell Gillis, and Barbara Gwinn.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 8th, 1:00-2:30PM at Dunbar Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of one's choice.
