Civil War Union Navy Sailor. He served as a Seaman in the Union Navy from November 9, 1860 to February 6, 1864.

He served on board the ships "USS Princeton", "USS Saratoga", "USS North Carolina" and "USS De Soto".

On July 25, 1890 he filed for a US Navy Invalid Veteran Pension (Application #19003, Certificate #31398).

On March 11, 1910 his wife, Anna L. Hunterson, filed for a US Navy Widow's Pension (Application #28848, Certificate #21287).
