Gladys Lillian Webb, 81, longtime Texas County resident, died Monday morning, Sept. 3, 1990, in the Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kan., following a lengthy illness.

The daughter of James and Nannie Pauley, she was born Aug. 2, 1909, in Kimble, W.Va.

After living in Texas County most of her life, she married Guss Webb on July 16, 1925, in Guymon. The Webb family lived and farmed in the Unity community until retirement in 1974 at which time they moved to Guymon.

A very active member of the Glenrose Community Church, she was the Sunday school superintendent and a

Sunday school teacher for many years. After moving to Guymon, she moved her membership to the Panhandle Bible Center.

She is preceded in death by one son, Marvin, who died in 1935.

Survivors include her husband, Guss, of the home; three daughters, Ethel Ruth Baker and her husband, Leon, of Guymon, LaVonna Mitchell and her husband, Don, of Amarillo, Texas, and Bernita Lookingbill of Elk City; one son, Melvin Lee Webb of Fairfax; one brother, Arthur Pauley of Henry, Va.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Panhandle Bible Center with Rev. Ted Barker, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of Henson Funeral Home of Guymon.

A Gladys Webb memorial has been established for the Panhandle Bible Center. Memorials will be accepted at the Henson Funeral Home or the church office.

Friends may call at the funeral home anytime Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.
