George Loyd Scott
Services Held
George Loyd Scott, former Strong City farmer and rancher, died Thursday at his home in Cheyenne following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p. m. in the First Baptist church, Cheyenne with Rev. Robert Webb and George Frank, minister, officiating.
Born October 1, 1895 at Weatherford, Texas Mr. Scott came to Strong City community in 1898 with his parents. He was married to Bertha Mae Scott January 22, 1926 at Canadian, Texas. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors are his wife of the home; 3 daughters, Billie Vincent, Lapunte, Calif.; Betty Lamb, Sante Fe, New Mexico; Mrs. Lanna(sic) Mae Long Monterey, California; four sons, George, Jr. of Roswell, New Mex. Bobby of Hugo; Harold and Gary of Cheyenne; one sister, Mrs. Edna Durhm;(sic) two brothers, Claude and Arthur Scott, Cheyenne.
Pall bearers were Champ Maddux, Dale Wesner, Lester Minor, Lester Pierce, Weldon Davis, Albert Maddux.
Committal was in the Strong City cemetery with Scroggins and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
In August 1939 Loyd was living in/near Strong City, Oklahoma.
