Delilah is my precious grandmother. This is her story.

Delilah BONE Nash was the only daughter of Oscar (Os) Bone (1882-1958) and Charlotte "Lottie" FOWLKES (1884-1907) of Humphreys County, Tennessee. Charlotte and Os Bone married May 28,1902; she was 18 and he was 20. My great great grandmother, Charlotte FOWLKES Bone died in 1907 at the young age of 22 leaving Os Bone a widower with a small child, my grandmother, Delilah. I have searched but I cannot find a death certificate on Charlotte, hence, I do not know her cause of death. My grandmother was about a little over a year old when her mother died. Os Bone later married Sophia Wherry. However, from the records I have
found Os Bone did not take Delilah with him when he remarried and she stayed behind and lived with her paternal grandparents, Peter and Leona PHOEBUS Bone.

Delilah married my grandfather Arthur Shannon Nash, Jr. (1903-1984). Arthur is the son of Arthur Shannon Nash, Sr. (1879-1943) and Mary Ida RUSHTON Nash (1878-1921) of Humphreys County, Tennessee.

Arthur and Delilah moved to Nashville. They had 4 children. Paul Edward Nash (1925-1990). Lottie Fay Nash (1926-1927). Little Lottie died of meningitis. Nellie Hamilton Nash (Lane)(1928-1998)(Nellie is my mother). Joann Nash (Biles) (1930-?) Not sure if Joann is still alive.
