Oscar "Os" Bone was born in Humphreys County, Tennessee in 1881. He is the son of Peter Bone and Leona PHEBUS Bone of Humphreys County. He married Charlotte "Lottie" FOWLKES (1884-1907) also of Humphreys County in 1902 at the age of 22; she was 18. My grandmother, Delilah, was born of this union in 1906. When Lottie died on May 31, 1907 at the age of 22, she left behind her one year old daughter (my grandmother Delilah), and her husband of only 5 years.
To my knowledge and research Os Bone was a horrible man. Very mean. His sons with Sophia Wherry were notorious for being no count and lawless. Maybe it was a good thing that my grandmother Delilah stayed behind and was raised by Peter and Leona Bone (Os Bone's Parents and my gg grandparents.) Os Bone married Sophia Wherry and they had children of their own. Delilah married Arthur Shannon Nash Jr, son of Arthur Shannon Nash Sr and Mary Ida RUSHTON Nash of Humphreys County. My mother, Nellie Hamilton NASH Lane was born of this union, along with 3 other children.
