William Hutson was in Company F, 39th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry. Captured when the garrison at Port Hutson in Louisiana was surrendered July 9, 1863. The garrison was paroled July 12 and 13, 1863. He was captured again December 15, 1864 near Nashville, sent to Camp Douglas, Ill and paroled June 19, 1865 at wars end. He was appointed postmaster at Centralia in Trinity County January 1, 1896 and served until the post was discontinued January 31, 1906.
