Notes From Bob & Jo Marie Townsley:

Grandmother Tuga was staying with Lee and Inez Townsley at that time, and she was piecing quilts for Margie and Laverne, daughters of Lee and Inez.

Jo had started piecing a flower garden quilt in earlier years, and she encouraged Jo to complete it, which she did over the next few months. She also told Jo she would
piece a quilt for her out of the string pieces left if they would get the fabric to set it together. When Bob went to town, he got the yard goods as was requested.

Bob and Jo have the quilt Grand-mother Tuga pieced, Jo's mother had it quilted for them by her Home Demonstration Club of Crawford, OK, as a gift. The quilt is now 49 years old,(1999) and has been mended a few times, but still is in good shape. It has not been used a great deal, as it is a special keepsake and will be passed on down to the next generation.
