The Death Angel has again visited this community and taken from our midst a beloved mother, a kind neighbor and friend in the person of Mrs. Ellen Cahalan, who departed from this life at her farm home on Monday at the age of fifty-nine years. The deceased has been an invalid for the past two years and has been a rare example of Christian patience and fortitude under bodily pain and suffering. She leaves five children to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at St. Thomas church early Wednesday morning and the remains were taken to Sheldon, Iowa, where they will be laid to rest beside her husband who died eight years ago.
