Mrs. T. B. (Effie) Bridges of 2801 E. Price died Wednesday afternoon in St. Joseph's Hospital.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmye Newman of College Street Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Mrs. Bridges was born Jan. 28,1891 in Tupelo, Miss. She was the daughter of the late G. W. and Mattie Heflin Mathews. She moved to the Broadway community in Lamar County when seven years old.
On Jan. 5, 1911, she married T. B. Bridges, who preceded her in death on May 23, 1966. She had been a resident of the Paris area since that time.
Mrs. Bridges was a member of the College Street Church of Christ and of the ladies' adult Sunday School class of that church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lee R. (Marie) Hill and Mrs. Mildred Tharp, both of Paris; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Player of Oakland, Calif, and Mrs. T. G. McFadden of Paris; four brothers, Roy C. Mathews of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Bill Mathews of Hobart, Okla.; Hamp Mathews of Houston and Alvie Mathews of Paris; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A son, Judson H. Bridges, preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1978.
