Obit: Heart trouble from which he had suffered for the past two months, resulted in the death of John Sturgis at his home in Kirklin at 6 o'clock Friday evening.
Mr. Sturgis was born in Decatur County, Indiana, on March 17, 1864, being the son of Leander and Mary Ann Sturgis.
He was united in marriage with Florence Harris on July 8, 1886. Mrs. Sturgis proceeded her husband in death July 6, 1930. Mr. Sturgis was a member of the M. E. Church and Masonic Lodge at Kirklin. He had been a farmer practically all his life.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Maude Cash of Sheridan, Mrs. Elvert Cohee of Frankfort, Mrs. Charles Ward of Michigantown, Mrs. Bertha Shannon of Gary, and Mrs. Bernice Bogan of Kirklin; one brother, Charles A. Sturgis of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and fourteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the M. E. Church at Kirklin Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Carder officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
