Daughter of Johnard & Malinda Harris. Wife of John Sturgis.

Obit: Following an illness of two months duration, Mrs. Florence J. Sturgis died at the family home in Kirklin at 8:30 o'clock yesterday morning. Death resulted from a complication of ailments.

Mrs. Sturgis, a native of Kirklin Township, Clinton County, was a daughter of Johnah and Malinda Harris, early residents of Kirklin Township. She was born April 13, 1868, and at the time of her death was past sixty-two years of age.

Her entire life had been spent in the vicinity of her birth where she attended the schools of the community and in early womanhood was united in marriage with John Sturgis. The marriage having been solemnized July 8, 1886.

She was well known and held high esteem by a wide acquaintance of friends. For many years she had been a member of the Kirklin M. E. Church and the Missionary activity of the church.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Maude Cash of Sheridan, Mrs. Orpha Coy of Frankfort, Mrs. Lena Ward of Michigantown, Mrs. Bertha Shannon and Mrs. Bernice Bogan both of Gary.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Kirklin M. E. Church at two o'clock this afternoon. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
