Mrs. Maude F. Buchanan

Mrs. Maude F. Buchanan of Mapleton, R. D., died at her home on Thursday, March 1, 1951, at 5:45 p. m. following an illness of five weeks.

She was born on November 25, 1882, in Oneida Township, Huntingdon County, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Summers) Shoemaker. On May 28, 1902, she was united in marriage to Edward Buchanan in Huntingdon by the Rev. Mr. Smith of the Methodist Church. The couple made their first home near Mapleton where they have since resided.

Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the Mapleton Presbyterian Church for 46 years. She was also a member of the Adult Bible Class in the Sunday School of that church.

Surviving are her husband and two children; Gladys (Mrs. Murble Kyler) of Mapleton and Preston C. Buchanan of Mapleton, R. D. One sister, Miss Mary Shoemaker of Huntingdon, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p. m. at Clark's funeral home in Mount Union. Prof. G. Wayne Glick of Juniata College will be in charge of the services. Interment will be made at Bowman Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Saturday.
