Christopher Specht, born about 1760, died 1822 in Somerset Co. Pa. His estate is filed in #3 of 1822 where administrators bonds were filed on January 14, 1822. His wife is named as Sarah and the administrators were named as Jacob Cable and Jacob Wagner. The Specht family were members of the franklin Co., Pa. Seventh day German Baptist Church. The known children of Christopher Specht were Andrew Specht Sr, born about 1872 and died on Aug 30, 1856 in Shade Township, his wife was Margaret Pisel who was born on Sept 5, 1786 and died on April 26, 1879.They are buried in the Old Wilt Cemetery. David Specht was born in 1784 and died in 1821 in Shade Township. His estate is record in #12 of 1821, the administrators were filed on Dec 24, 1821. After the death of Christopher Specht, his grandson, George Specht purchased Christopher's plantation farm of 200 acres for $1,000.00. 1/3 was to be paid at the sale, 1/3 to be charged and remain on the land during the natural life of his widow, Sara, and 1/3 was due one year after the date of sale. The widow was to receive the interest.[5]

Jacob Cable, administrator of Christopher's estate, petitioned the Court to sell the remaining 642 acres and 107 perches since the hears refused to accept same at the appraised and lands remained unsold for want of a buy. The tract went to the highest bidder who was Samuel Fyock for $255.[6]
