Benton, Wis.- Jan. 8- John Spensley, 79, died at the home of his son Thomas Spensley, near Platteville, Wednesday afternoon, following a long illness. He was born at New Diggings in 1852.
He is survived by three sons, Thomas and Russell, of Platteville, Elmer, Scales Mound, and one daughter, Mrs. C.R. Buchan of Milwaukee.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the P.M. Church, Rev. S.S. George officiating. Burial was in the New Diggings Cemetery.
