Ramon, a lifelong resident of San Pedro, was predeceased by his parents Santiago and Antonia Fresquez; grandparents Jose Ignacio and Romanita Fresquez; his wife of 69 years Clorinda Sanchez-Fresquez; and brother Samuel Fresquez.

Ramon was survived by his children: Louie Fresquez (wife Rachel) of San Pedro, David Fresquez (wife Loretta), Robert Fresquez (wife Annabella) all of La Mesilla, Jude Wheat (husband Billie) of Rio Rancho, Paul Fresquez (wife Barbara), Chris Fresquez (wife Renee) all of La Mesilla; special friend who was like a son, Julian Romero and his wife Frances, and their children: Monica and Jessica of Cuyamungue; grandchildren: Brenda, Lawrence, Michael, Jennifer and Charles Fresquez, Francine Ortiz, Robert Ray Fresquez, Bryan and Michael Wheat, Paul, Joseph, John, Joshua, Gabrielle and Luke Fresquez; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Maria Martinez, Teresita Moya, Frances Valerio (husband Pat) and Lourdes Chavez (husband Anthony); brothers: Joe Fresquez (wife Helen) and Pete Fresquez (wife Lydia); God-children: Phillip Fresquez, Greg Chavez, Barbara Musgrave and Priscilla (Marian) Perez; and numerous special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Ramon was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, crossword puzzles, horse races and gambling. He was the oldest living member of the Santisima Trinidad and was the oldest living member of the American Legion Post 17.

A Rosary was recited on January 28, 2013 at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de Cañada. Mass of Christian burial was on January 29, 2013 also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de Cañada. Burial followed in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers: Lawrence, Michael, Charles and Robert Fresquez, Michael Wheat, Paul, Joseph, John and Joshua Fresquez. Honorary pallbearers: Leonard Valerio, Annette Atencio, Manny Chavez, Judge Stephen Salazar, Carmela Martinez, Lourdes Gallegos, Sixto Maestas, Ida and Dolores Salazar.
