Irving Jarratt was born on February 13, 1917 in Lorraine, Texas to A.E. and Mary Jena Jarratt. Mr. Jarratt lived in Lorraine, Galveston and Colorado City, Texas and Tucson, Arizona before moving to Midland in 1959. He was in farming, photography, worked for Higginbotham Bartlett Co. commercial construction was regional sales manager for Pioneer Natural Gas and was owner of Jarratt Heating Air Conditioning before his retirement. He was a member of Junior Chamber of Commerce in Colorado City, assisted in organizing Junior Achievement and a member of the Toastmasters Club in Midland. He was on the Board of Trustees at Midland Christian School, is a past executive officer of Midland Home Builders Association and a member of Public Relations Board of Medina Children's Home. He attended Westside Church of Christ where he was an Elder for over 30 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anonymous Ervin (A.E.) and Mary Jena Jarratt, grandparents, William Amzy and Mary Jane Taylor Jarratt, brothers: William Meek Jarratt, John Wesley Jarratt and Charles Dudley Jarratt. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ruby Adrian Jarratt, sons; Arnold and his wife Nancy of Henderson, Nevada, and William Art and his wife Jane of Odessa, Texas; daughters, Jena Price of Midland, Texas and Ruth Ewen and husband Sean of Ruidoso, New Mexico; sisters, Mary Lucile Frazier and Marie Elizabeth Hare of Lorraine, Texas. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Brandi Jarratt Crowley, Zane Anthony Jarratt, Donald Lee Jarratt, Lisa Ann Jarratt, Jonathan Jarratt, Timipat (Rankins) Wood, Barbara Tyler, Bobby Bell, Troy Bell, Joe Bell, Jennifer Lea Prince, Joshua Quinn Prince, Timothy Glenn Prince, Andrea Colleen White and Tabitha Kathleen Ewen. Mr. Jarratt leaves behind 28 great grandchildren as well. Family will receive friends tonight at the funeral home between the hours of 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at West Side Church of Christ. Burial will be at the Roscoe Cemetery at 3:30pm.
