EAST PRAIRIE - Joseph Bernie McMikle, a lifelong resident of East Prairie, died early February 22, 1982 in Missouri Delta Community Hospital at Sikeston. He was 81 years old.
Mr. McMikle was born February 5, 1901, near East Prairie to John Harvey and Christine Brodhacker McMikle.
He was a retired farmer and funeral home director.
Mr. McMikle was a member of the Gospel Assembly of God Church here, and was a 50-year member of the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge.
On February 23, 1919 he married Miss Sally Katherine Black. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Willard McMikle, Sikeston, and Elgin McMikle, Charleston; three daughters, Mrs. Doris Daniel, Charleston, Mrs. Maguerite Shilbey, Memphis, Tenn. and Mrs. James (Leola) Roach, Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A grandson preceded him in death.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home here after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Services will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. James Bolden, pastor of Gospel Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
