Billie Jean Sperry, age 89, a longtime resident of Odessa passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010. "Mamaw Billie", as she was known to her grandchildren, was born on Dec. 30, 1920, in Abilene, Texas, to the late Clem Tilman McCracken Sr. and Vida Mae Yow. Mamaw Billie is survived by her husband of 28 years, William Sperry of Odessa, Texas, sons, Michael Huckabay and wife Monica of Magnolia, Texas, Steve Huckabay and wife Mary Lou of Albany, Texas, Brian Huckabay and wife Karen of Albany, Texas; daughter, Jana Marie Huckabay of Odessa, grandchildren, Gary Ray, Bobby, Blake, Hollie, Dale, Cherane, Doug, Danny, Jon Michael, Rae Ann, Kecia, Michael Justin, Heather, Travis, Jalen and Michaela; 4 great grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Our sweet mother, Mamaw Billie, and friend was preceded in death by her parents, Vida Mae and Clem Tilman McCracken, Sr.; brothers, Bobby McCracken and Clem McCracken, Jr., the father of her children, George William Huckabay; and sons, Danny Ray and George Gary Huckabay.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at the Gooch Cemetery in Mason, Texas, where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband, George William Huckabay.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Gary, Bobby, Blake, Dale, Danny and Michael Justin Huckabay and honorary pallbearer, Douglas Jackson.
