Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28, 2009 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Ada Abshire Broussard, 94, who died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Kaplan Healthcare Center.
She will be laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.
She is survived by her companion, Jimmy Trump of Crowley; one daughter, Lilly Mae and her husband Maxie Vincent of Kaplan; one brother, Clifford Mathiew of Kaplan; one sister, Nathilda Touchet of Port Sulphur; three grandchildren, Linda and her husband Howard Stevens of Kaplan, Charlene and her husband Milton Mire Jr. of Kaplan, Janet and her husband Johnny Hebert of Kaplan; ten great grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, three step great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alpheus "Dado" Abshire; her second husband, Camille Broussard and three brothers.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, August 28, from 8 a.m. until procession departs for the church.
