Hilda Rebecca Freeman dies at 106, in the Meadowbrook Manor in South Brookfield. Born April 5, 1887 in Greenfield, she was the eldest daughter of the late Charles and Dorinda Tibert Freeman. After graduation she taught in Lunenburg and Queens county schools, and then moved to Fargo, North Dakota, where she was employed by Wells and Fargo Bank. She later moved to Boston, Massachsetts and found employment with the America Optical Company, where she eventually she became assistant manager. Upon retiring in 1958, she returned to Greenfield and became a member of the United Baptist Church and Missionary Aid Society.
She never married.
