George was the son of Wallace and Elizabeth Byerly. He married Elizabeth Pugh in Feb 1873 in Anamosa, Iowa. They were the parents of George and Florence.

Jan 24, 1929 - Humboldt Independent - On January 16th 1929 occurred the death of George M. Byerly at Humboldt at the age of 75 years 6 months, and 25 days. Mr. Bryarly had been ill or some time but his death came suddenly.

He was born in Dubuque, Iowa where he spent his boyhood days. He was united in marriage to Miss Eliza Pugh at Anamosa on February 1873. Two children were born to them: George, deceased, and Florence, now Mrs. John Tuttle, of Livermore. He had lived in Livermore a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, and two sisters: Mrs. Susan Moyer of Washington and Mrs. Laura Coulter of Milford, Iowa. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Tuttle Friday afternoon at two o'clock and was buried a the Union cemetery north of town.
