KILLED ON THE CARS

Patrick Moran, a young man of a little over twenty-one, who lived at Eyota, met with a shocking death at Waseca on Tuesday afternoon.

He was a brakeman on the Waseca accommodation train and when the train had reached Waseca, he was climbing down on the side of a freight car just as the train was running by a tool house which was so close to the track that the young man struck it and was thrown off the car. It is thought that his neck was broken and that he was instantly killed by striking the tool house. In falling from the car, he struck on the rail between the cars and his body was cut in two.

Mr Moran was an estimable young man and highly thought of by his friends and associates.

The remains were brought home and the funeral, which took place from St John's church in this city on Thursday afternoon, was a very large one.
