Jane Bowman Wardlaw, daughter of John Wardlaw, III and Peggy [née Jordan] Wardlaw was born in Abbeville District, South Carolina on June 30th 1821 in the area near Donalds. Her parents were both from families who had settled into the area in the 1760's.
On the 2nd of February 1837, Jane married John Edward Foster, son of Robert and Elizabeth [née Clark] Foster, from Calhoun Mills Savannah River Regiment in Abbeville County, South Carolina; with whom she had the following known children:
